The Standard Rates To Hire A Taxi In Toronto

The City of Toronto municipal government sets the meter rate for all Toronto taxicabs

Taxi rates:

$4.25 base fare

$0.25 for each additional 0.143 kilometers

$0.25 for each 29 seconds while stopped during a ride.

Additional Charges:

Debi and credit card fee may apply but must be displayed.

$2.00 for each passenger above four

$25.00 cleaning fee if passenger soils the taxi

$10 minimum fee for parcel delivery

Good to Know:

No charge for loading or unloading mobility devices, including wheelchairs

Flat rates are available to Pearson International Airport – ask driver for a rate sheet. The driver must also run the meter and you can pay whichever is the lesser amount.

Driver must provide receipt upon request.

HST included in all fees.
