NEIGHBOURHOOD PROFILE: HIGH PARK

High Park is the place where Torontonians go to play.

An impressive footprint in the middle of the city, High Park offers everything from beautiful cherry blossom trees to a small zoo.

The park was bequeathed by John George Howard and became a municipal park in 1876. The landscape consists of hills and a network of two ravines. It is one of Toronto largest parks and is situated on 399 acres of land. The serene beauty of nature combined with hiking trails and sport facilities makes it an ideal place for all.

The park is known as one of the most significant natural sites in Toronto because it is home to many of nature species and plants.

The zoo in High Park originated in the 1900’s. Back then deer were kept inside the park, but now, visitors will be able to see bison, deer, llamas, peacocks, highland cattle, and much more.
