NEIGHBOURHOOD PROFILE: DISTILLERY DISTRICT

An official Canadian Historical Site, Toronto ˜Distillery District is an entertainment burrow located just East of Downtown Toronto.

The area was officially redeveloped and oriented for pedestrians in 2001 and is now bustling with numerous shops, cafes and restaurants. Nestled in the former heritage buildings of the Gooderham and Worts Distillery, the district offers the largest collection of Victorian-era industrial architecture in North America. The area has continued to modernize with a commitment to sustainable development still maintaining the unique and historical form all while keeping a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere.

Of the many great attractions in the Distillery District, one of the most popular is Mill St. Brewery.

The brewery prides itself on creating delicious craft beers and even offers an organic option! What more? Mill St. is the first commercial brewery to open up in East Toronto in over 100 years! Not only do they brew great beer, they also have an awesome brew pub. Preserving the Victorian-feel, Mill St. has kept the high ceilings, wooden beams and skylights that characterize the era feel. Winning an array of prestigious beer awards, it no surprise that Mill St. Brewery has become a popular spot for tourists and locals alike!
